The opinion of one Russian bride about life in Finland



To marry the foreigner is always the important event in a life of Russian brides. The new country, a foreign language takes this step close to the intriguing. I wish to tell to your story about one Russian bride who married the Finn and have moved to Finland, such it would seem the country close to Russia. But whether it is valid it as much it is close to Russia geographically, how many in respect of a social system and mentality.

I am the Russian bride one of set which married the Finn. I am very opened to dialogue and I am affable with surrounding people. At me in the homeland all people like to talk and often to interrupt each other because liked to speak more than to listen. Russian brides who read this article know what I am talking about. However in Finland all absolutely on the contrary, people speak very little. A life in Finland silent and mentality is another. I had such impression that Finns already have told each other everything that they wanted for many years.

My Finnish husband has made me the happy woman. I felt loved near to him. It is the dream for many of Russian brides. He has very good fellowship with mine daughter (though it always corrects me - with "ours") from my first Russian marriage. My daughter not simply names him "daddy", and really considers him as unique native father. It seems to me that the usual Finnish daddy is better than the Russian daddy. My daughter has got acquainted in a kindergarten with the Finnish children and all of them confirm that love the daddy more than mum. Here fathers give much more time to the children than the Russian fathers, constantly walk with them and are interested in them much more.

In Russia there are traditional family dinners, unfortunately and in it Finland differs from Russia. Our traditions are very important for every Russian bride all over the world. Here all people eat at restaurants, or fast food. For Finns food intake, a meal - simply necessary physiological process, instead of pleasant time of forwarding and heart-to-heart talks as for Russian. Always it seemed to me and so I have been brought up that the family becomes a family in when gathers behind a dining table. But how many it was required to me of efforts to reach it in Finland with my Finnish husband! The husband long could not understand what for to sit at a table dhoti if it is possible to take simply something quickly from the refrigerator and to eat on management. And even now after years we have a family supper very seldom.

My husband loves as I cook especially Russian national food ( every Russian bride cook very well Russian food).Though here I hesitate to receive in such a way visitors in the house as we have got used as it is in Russia. The traditional supper for visitors here in Finland looks simply. At first submit salad from vegetables; refueling for salad moves in small capacity separately. Then submit meat or fish with a potato, and sometimes the simply beautifully decorated sandwiches, for each person strictly on one. Wine and water submit to food enthusiastic welcomes. Everybody here drink coffee irrespective on the tome of the day.

For the Russian brides it is difficult to understand such way of life which is here in Finland but you need to try understand it if you have big desire to live happy with you loving Finn husband.
